Accessibility statement

This website is run by the Against the flow research project at Newcastle University. We want as many people as possible to be able to use it. For example, you should be able to:

• zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
• navigate the whole website, including the submission form, using just a keyboard
• navigate most of the website using a screen reader
• change colours, contrast levels and fonts using your browser or device settings

We've also made the text as simple as possible to understand.

Compliance status

This website aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at AA standard, in line with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018. A full accessibility audit will be completed, and recorded here, before the observation submission form opens.

Known limitations

• Some maps and figures show detailed scientific data. Each has a text description, but some fine detail may only be available visually. Contact us if you need information from a figure in another format.
• Research papers we link to are published by third parties and may not be fully accessible.

This statement was prepared on 29 September 2026. It will be reviewed before the website launches and at least once a year after that.
