Very. Knowing where pellets aren't is as important as knowing where they are. Choose "I looked and found none" on the form and include a photo of the area you searched.

Knowing exactly when and where each photo was taken lets us match it to the tide and river flow at that moment, which is the heart of the research. This information is only seen by the research team and is never published. If you'd rather not share a photo's location, switch off location in your camera before taking it. No. You can submit completely anonymously. Only give your name and email if you'd like us to contact you or credit you.

Only if you choose a publishing option. Nothing is published automatically. Before publication, we blur any people and vehicle registrations.

Yes, but please ask a parent or guardian to submit your observation for you.

If you do, wear gloves and wash your hands afterwards. Please photograph them where you found them first, and tell us roughly how much you collected. For organised clean-ups, follow advice from the organisations coordinating the response.
